1/5 continental wall maps created for reference purposes

Select Transportation Infrastructure of the United States is the front side of a 34” x 44” foldable wall map produced for the Bureau of Transportation Statistics at the U.S. Department of Transportation. This map is updated every other year, showing current essential infrastructure for the major modes of transportation in the U.S. As of January 2019, approximately 4000 copies of the wall map have been printed for distribution at conferences and USDOT events.

Transportation Fatality Rate per State is a multidimensional cartogram showing both the number and rate of highway fatalities in each state for 2017. Most cartograms illustrate one phenomenon at a time, whereas here both the size and hue of each hexagon represent a unique value. This map is part of the reverse side of the Transportation Geography of the United States wall map.

This map was created for a press release for the National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD) using newly update data. Graphics created for press releases are intended to capture the attention of users on Twitter to help publicize updates to the database throughout the year.

Featured in the 2019 Transportation Statistics Annual Report (TSAR), this map illustrates the paths and impacts of several major hurricanes in 2017 and 2018.

This map, originally created for the 2019 Transportation Statistics Annual Report (TSAR), shows the change in congestion from 2013 to 2017 in several major metropolitan areas.

Transportation Geography of the United States is the reverse side of the Select Transportation Infrastructure of the United States wall map. It includes a series of maps and charts depicting trends and pattens in transportation across several modes. Additional detail on select pieces from this product is available in my portfolio.

Using the ArcGIS Online platform, I built an interactive web map for prospective geographers to find programs relevant to their needs and interests. Using SQL queries, departments featured on the map are filterable by degree type, region/area of interest, and subdiscipline. Students can also search for programs within given geographic parameters and export a file of their results for further analysis.
